First, determine what direction you are entering Winona from, and what highway. There are four main directions. East, from Wisconson, for example, West, from Western Minnesota, and probably most of the places south of here as well, and from the Twin Cities. Most of these will put you on Highway 14/61.
If you are entering from Wisconson, not via the Interstate Bridge, you will see a Mills Fleet Farm. There is an intersection near there with stoplights. From the stoplights continue on Highway 14/61. You will reach another set of stoplights a couple miles down the road. Turn RIGHT. You will now be on a street called Huff Street. After about a half mile, you will come to a four-way stop. GO STRAIGHT. You will see a Kwik Trip. This is a good place to get gas and munchies if you are so inclined. If not, continue past the Kwik Trip, and across a set of railroad tracks. TURN RIGHT at the first street on the other side of the tracks, at the corner where there will be a tall (for Winona) builing. It is very difficult to miss this. There will be a parking lot on your LEFT, with a brick building near it. This is Minne Hall. Park your car, and come around to the main entrance of the building. Enter. You are there.
If you are coming in at the other end of town, that is the west end, you will come down a hill, and there will be a set of stoplights. GO STRAIGHT. There will be another set of stoplights 2 blocks later. TURN RIGHT. You should now be on Highway 14/61. After a couple miles, you will come to another set of stoplights. TURN LEFT.
If you are coming from Minneapolis, then you will pass the city limits sign and come to a set of stoplights. GO STRAIGHT. You should now be on Highway 14/61. After a couple miles, you will come to another set of stoplights. TURN LEFT. If you are entering town via the Interstate Bridge, then you will come off the bridge and find yourself at a 2-way stop. TURN RIGHT. There will be a set of stoplights a block away. TURN LEFT. You will now be on a street called Huff Street. After another block there will be another set of stoplights. GO STRAIGHT. After about a half mile you will see a tall (for Winona) builing. It is very difficult to miss this. TURN LEFT onto the street just past this building. There will be a parking lot on your LEFT, with a brick building near it. This is Minne Hall. Park your car, and come around to the main entrance of the building. Enter. You are there.
If anyone enters town and none of these routes is applicable, let me know, via e-mail. Actually, it would be preferable for you to e-mail Alan, as he is a lifelong resident of Winona and can probably help you better than me. Or call (507) 452-3892 there is no guarantee that Alan will be there, but it is worth a try if it is before 5:45 pm on gameday. If it is later than that, call anyway and attempt to cajole whoever answers into finding Alan and getting him to find you. It just might work.
